If you have already applied for passport , you would have received an acknowledgement slip from PSK or Passport Office. You can check for 13 digit Passport FILE Number given in the printed receipt. Basic Documents required for Indian passport. If are in the region of Passport seva, All the Documents will be scanned at the PSK. So basically you don’t have to worry about carrying the photocopies. However I suggest you to have 2 set of Photocopies handy with you always which visiting PSK.Make sure you have self attestation done on these photocopies.

There are very less chances of having errors in name or place of birth or date of birth in Indian Passport. Police verification for Tatkaal and Fresh Indian Passport Online :  There are multiple stages in Passport Processing. One of the most crucial and important phase is POLICE Verification.  Its mandatory to complete Police Verification for passport approval.

Why Police Verification is so Important ? Passport is very important identity document issued by government of INDIA.Also internationally accepted document and represents nationality as well.So its must for any one who is applying for passport to make sure he/she has produced all the required documents for Police Verification and Physically present at Home or in the address mentioned in the Passport Application during police verification.

When is the Police Verification Starts ?  Generally after submitting passport application at PSK or Passport Office , the next step will be the Police Verification. What to do if POLICE Verification is PENDING ? if you happen to notice that your police verification is pending, you can contact your nearest police station to know the status of your application. Also it could happen like, even the police verification is completed, the file may have delayed to submit to PASSPORT OFFICE. In such cases you can contact commissionaire for verification Status.

Police Verification for MINORs?  Parents or Guardian has to submit their address proof and minor DOB proof and also the passport photo copy if any is available. Parents or Guardian has to produce a declaration form Annexure “G” -Signed.

Tips to Get Slot booking Easily – Passport Seva Kendra – You need to get an appointment in PSK in order to complete the remaining formalities like Documents verification and completing the Interview process

• So the hardest part is to book a Slot. Getting or Managing a online passport appointment in PSK  is not easy because of lots applications submitted daily and many people are trying to get appointment at same time.
• If you are in Bangalore , timings for booking the slot is between 6.00PM to 6.08PM. The timings will be different other cities.
• If you are not able to get the slot, try booking to get the slot in TATKAAL, ideally its also a same thing, but the possibility is bit more.
• Make sure your internet speed is good and close all other download or webpages. In this way you will get enough bandwidth for your booking.
• Make sure you enter CAPTCHAS very fast as to avoid wastage of time. You may be required to enter CAPTCHAS two times.

Advisory for Applicants (updated 21 June, 2012) : From www.passportindia.gov.in

As per the serving capacity of each Passport Seva Kendra (PSK), online passport appointment booking slots are opened on daily basis. However, application who are not able to obtain online appointments at PSKs, they are advised to visit concerned Regional Passport Office (RPO) in their area. Such applicants should fill-up the application online, generate ‘Application Reference Number’ and visit RPO along with printed ‘ARN Sheet’. RPO will consider such cases and will give staggered appointments keeping in view the load/capacity at the respective PSK under their jurisdiction. Tatkaal and other urgency applications will be given preference in allotting appointments.

Applicants having confirmed appointments and who are unable to visit PSK due to some reason, are advised to reschedule/cancel their appointments at-least 15 hours prior to the scheduled date/time. In case of ‘no show’ of the applicant on the scheduled day & time, the data captured for that applicant will be deleted from the system including ARN number and such applicants will be required to fill-up the ‘data’ again for obtaining fresh appointments.
